O alternativ\u0103 poate fi energia regenerabil\u0103, \u00een deosebi, biomasa. Moldova dispune anual numai ca de\u015feuri vegetale peste 12 mln. tone, ce este echivalent cu 50-60 mii GWh. Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 aceasta, Republica Moldova, poate cultiva plante speciale cu un poten\u0163ial energetic sporit, cum ar fi: rapi\u0163a, topinamburul, sorgul zaharat \u015fi altele, la utilizarea integral\u0103 a c\u0103rora se va ob\u0163ine un efect economic considerabil. Este firesc de \u00eenlocuit combustibilii fosili cu cei de natur\u0103 vegetal\u0103. Utilizarea efectiv\u0103 \u015fi comod\u0103 a biomasei poate fi \u00eentreprins\u0103 doar \u00een urma proces\u0103rii ei \u00een brichete sau pelete.
